Girls Leadership Workshop

This Human Rights and Social Justice Quilt is the result of a collaborative journey between Helema Kadir, counselors at the Eleanor Roosevelt Center, and a group of teenage girls from around the world. Each block was envisioned and assembled during one three hour session in which Helema outlined the vision and parameters of the collaboration, and oversaw the support counselors offered to the assembled group of teenage girls. Each girl was encouraged to create an image with fabric that evoked an empowering and positive sense of change in the world.
